PARTNERING WITH THE INTERAMERICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK
OPPORTUNITIES AND BENEFITS FOR EXTRACTIVE RESOURCE COMPANIES
7:30 AM, Wednesday, May 25, 2011
The Canadian Council for the Americas
CCA-Alberta is very pleased to follow up on the resounding success of the IDB's Annual Meetings in Calgary with a presentation on how the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) works with the private sector to pursue projects in the extractive sector, with a focus on oil and gas.
Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), as a regional multilateral bank, is seeking to partner with oil, gas and petrochemical companies developing projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Partnering with IDB will enable companies to (i) access long-term financing with extended tenors and implicit political risk mitigation through IDB’s close and longstanding relationships with all the countries and (2) benefit from grants provided to governments for revenue management of taxes/royalties and institutional capacity building, which could enhance the success of companies’ investments in the Region.
Our presenter, Abraham Fox, is responsible for originating and structuring IDB’s private sector financing for extractive resources (mining, oil and gas, petrochemicals). Previously, he was in charge of IDB’s Structuring, Product Development and Evaluation Unit that was responsible for front office oversight of credit, structuring, and related quality control management of private sector infrastructure projects and capital market transactions.
We look forward to seeing you at this highly relevant event!
