Join us for a conversation on lessons learned on corporate responsibility in the energy sector with Victoria Contreras, Founder and General Director of Conecta Cultura. Ms. Contreras is the founder and General Director of the Association Conecta Cultura de México (2010) an enterprise that manages projects of social innovation to promote the Cultures and the Development of Ibero-America. www.conectacultura.mx.
She has 15 years of experience managing international projects in the social and cultural sector in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Spain, in coordination with partners from different countries such as the United States, Canada, Chile, Argentina, United Kingdom, Guatemala, etc. Ms. Contreras has specialized in topics such as social development with equality, cultural rights, diversity of cultural expression, cultural turism, sustainable development goals 2030, corporate responsibility, mediation and the incidence of social management, as well as the creation of dialogue between corporations and communities in the context of megaprojects. Ms. Contreras has worked with public and private partners and has managed projects and mixed funds with TransCanada Corporation, Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo`[Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development] , Organization of American States, Secretaría General Iberoamericana [Ibero-American General Secretariat], the Ford Foundation, Interarts Foundation, Telmex Foundation, the Secretary of Culture of the Government of Mexico City, Ministries of Culture of Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, etc. Ms. Contreras is part of the eight global experts working for UNESCO (Paris) assessing projects for the International Fund on Diversity of Cultural Expressions (2016, 2017, 2021).
In September 2016, she was a speaker for TEDx Cuauhtemoc at the Teatro de la Ciudad de México [Mexico City’s Theatre] where she spoke about the importance of Culture for Social Development in Mexico. As a teacher, Ms. Contreras elaborated the curriculum for the specialty in “Culture and International Relations” in the Universidad Iberoamericana. She has taught in the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, Universidad Iberoamericana, the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana in Mexico City and in the Masters course on Cultural Management of the University of Zaragoza.
